Welling United head to the south coast on Tuesday evening buoyed by their recent run of form and itching to get back to action after the postponement of the weekend’s set of fixtures.
It’s been 10 days since the Wings swept Oxford City aside with a 5-0 victory at Park View Road and Warren Feeney will be looking for more of the same from his side as they go in search of a third win on the bounce and a fourth win in five outings.
Their opponents, however, will provide a stern test at Priory Lane and go into the game in good form themselves.
The Opposition
Danny Bloor’s side made an indifferent start to the campaign, losing three of their first four games, but have picked up in recent weeks, with two wins and a draw from their last three outings, including home victories against Dulwich Hamlet and Dover Athletic.
Their results leave them in 11th position in National League South with three wins, three defeats and a draw from their seven games, so far, scoring 14 and conceding 13 along the way.
LAST TIME OUT
The last meeting between the two sides came in April as the Wings came back from the dead to pick up a precious point at Priory Lane from a 3-3 draw.
Welling found themselves 3-0 down at the break with Charley Kendall (2) and Mitch Dickenson finding the net to seemingly send the hosts cruising to victory.
But the Wings struck back after the break in dramatic fashion. Dipo Akinyemi started the comeback before a Trent Mahorn own goal made it 3-2 with eight minutes remaining and Akinyemi struck again in the dying minutes to seal a memorable 3-3 draw.

Warren Feeney: “It’s always a tough place to go, so we have to go down there, be on our game and be confident. Whatever challenge we face, we have to overcome it.
“You go into every game with the respect for the opposition – you know their strengths and weaknesses – but you have to go with confidence in yourselves. We’re in good form, but we won’t get carried away.
“Ade Azeez is struggling with the groin strain he picked up against Oxford. He’s very, very doubtful to be involved on Tuesday.”
