Warren Feeney believes the Wings will be galvanised by Saturday’s heroics as he prepares his squad for Tuesday’s trip to Braintree Town.
Welling United go into the game in Essex with a number of injuries, not to mention the tired legs of those who battled to an outstanding point with nine men against Ebbsfleet United at the weekend.
Aaron Barnes, Taylor Maloney and Miles Roberts were all missing through injury on Saturday, while Stefan Payne and skipper James Dunne will be unavailable for the midweek showdown with the Iron following their dismissals at the Kuflink Stadium, but Feeney insists that the performance against Ebbsfleet will give his players a real boost.
“It’s going to be difficult,” he explained.
“We’re going to have to dust the boys down and go again. As soon as Saturday’s game was over, it was about eating right and recovering right and carry on.
“We’re out on our legs, but it’s a good thing to have, because performances like that [on Saturday] guide players to where they want to go.
“It will galvanise them and they will dust themselves off and be ready for Tuesday night.
“We have a good group and I back every single one of them.”
Supporters not travelling to the Dunmow Group Stadium on Tuesday evening can follow all the action LIVE on Radio Wings.
