Welling United will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointment in the FA Cup as their attention turns back to the league with a trip to Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday.
The Wings’ 3-0 defeat at Weymouth last time out was their first taste of defeat in eight games and Warren Feeney will be expecting a response from his side at the Beveree Stadium against the Beavers.
Welling currently lie in sixth position in Vanarama National League South table and will be hoping to consolidate their place in the play-off places with points remaining tight around them.
THE OPPOSITION
The Beavers occupy 17th place in the league with three wins, two draws and five defeats to their name, so far.
After a sticky start to their campaign, winning just one of their first seven league games, they have picked up in recent weeks, winning two of their last three outings, a 1-0 win over Chippenham Town (their only home league win of the season, so far) and a 1-0 win at Hungerford Town.
PRE-MATCH TALK
Warren Feeney: “It will be a tough game. I watched them against Dartford and I thought they played very well.
“It was my first game last year and they are a hard, hard test down there. But it’s a test we have to be confident in and, hopefully, with our game plan we’ll go and get the right result.”
