Welling United kick off their weekend early with a Friday-night trip to Twerton Park to take on Bath City (7.45pm).

The Wings will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing defeat at the hands of Weymouth as they go in search of a first league win on the road in five attempts.

Warren Feeney’s men will have to battle on without keeper Myles Roberts, who will begin his suspension following his dismissal last time out.

THE OPPOSITION
It’s set to be an emotional evening for the Romans as they return to action at Twerton Park for the first time since a serious head injury sustained by forward Alex Fletcher saw their home game against Dulwich Hamlet on November 8th abandoned and their subsequent fixture postponed.

Fletcher underwent emergency neurosurgery before finally leaving intensive care on November 21st.

Bath currently occupy 10th position in National League South, three points ahead of the Wings, with six wins, seven draws and six defeats from their 18 games, so far.

They come into the game off the back of a 3-0 defeat at St Albans City last weekend.

PRE-MATCH CHAT
Warren Feeney: “Bath are a very good side, I’ve played against a few of them and managed a few of them and it’ll be a tough game.

“We’ve prepared for this one in the same way we do for all the others. We don’t get too high and we don’t get too low.  We’ve had a lot of draws that we need to turn into wins.”
