Welling United are delighted to announce the arrival of defender Kodi Lyons-Foster on loan from Aldershot Town until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old centre-back arrives at Park View Road with a wealth of experience having wracked up 165 National League appearances over the last five-and-a-half seasons.
Lyons-Foster spent time in Tottenham Hotspurs’ academy as a youngster before moving on to Aston Villa where he represented their U18s and U21s before signing for Bristol City in 2016.
He then moved on to Aldershot in 2017 before joining Whitehawk a year later, but returned to the Shots in 2019 via a spell at Braintree Town, nailing down a starting berth at the EBB Stadium.
Last summer saw Lyons-Foster make a loan move to Maidstone United, making 12 league appearances for the Stones before returning to his parent club in January.
He now joins the Wings to add depth to Warren Feeney’s defensive options for the remainder of the campaign.
Speaking of the latest addition to his squad, Wings boss Feeney said: “Kodi is a player I’ve been chasing for some time. He’s athletic, strong and experienced at a higher level and he’ll be a very good addition for us.
“We’re a bit light in that position at the moment so he’ll bring competition for places.”
The Wings return to Park View Road on Saturday, February 4th to take on Dartford (3pm) in Vanarama National League South action.
