Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of winger Lewis White, who joins the Wings from Worthing ahead of the 2023/24 season.

24-year-old White enjoyed a successful campaign with Worthing last term, playing a key part in their march to the play-offs.

The tricky wide man netted five goals in 28 league appearances in Worthing’s debut campaign in Vanarama National League South, before a hamstring injury curtailed his season in March.

Wings fans will be familiar with White’s abilities with him having scored three times against his new club last term, while the highly-rated midfielder has gained attention for a number of dazzling performances and eye-catching goals in recent seasons.

Lewisham-born White came through the academy at Millwall where he was a mainstay in the Lions’ U18 and U23 sides while taking in a loan spell with Concord Rangers.

He joined Dulwich Hamlet in 2019, before switching to Carshalton Athletic in 2021 where he flourished, prompting newly-promoted Worthing to bring him to West Sussex last summer.

White now joins the Wings as their second new signing of the summer following the arrival of left-back Will Wood from Dulwich Hamlet last week.

Supporters will be able to get their first glimpse of the new-look Wings when they take on Charlton Athletic in the traditional summer curtain-raiser at Park View Road on Saturday, July 1st (3pm).
