Welling United Football Club are looking to fill the following vacancies ahead of the 2023/24 season: 

Groundsman

Working hours: 40 hours a week plus attendance at all home fixtures.

Salary: Dependant on experience.

Welling United are looking for a Head Groundsman to look after all aspects of maintaining the playing surfaces at both the club’s Park View Road stadium, based in Welling, and the academy training ground pitches, based in Eltham. 

The Head Groundsman will be responsible for the delivery of pitch maintenance and improvement at both sites to the highest standards.

Responsibilities include: 

• Presentation of all pitches to the highest standard for matches and training schedules. 

•Carrying out general grounds duties such as cutting the grass, watering the pitch, marking the pitch and match preparations. 

•Creation of work and fertiliser programmes to ensure the pitches are maintained to the highest possible standard. 

•Establishing and managing budgets for all aspects of work undertaken and ensuring that those budgets are adhered to. 

•Liaising with suppliers to order products and services where required.  

•Presenting and managing an end of season/closed season pitch renovation programme ensuring the required work is carried out by suppliers.  

•Liaising with the first-team Manager, academy and coaching staff on a regular basis to ensure pitches are appropriately prepared for matches and training.

Volunteer Kit Assistant

Working hours: Attendance at all home and away first-team fixtures.

Welling United are looking for a volunteer Kit Assistant to help with all aspects of kit and equipment management on matchday.

Responsibilities include: 

• Assisting the first team with a number of matchday duties including preparing warm-up and match kit for the matchday squad and coaching staff.

• Helping to transport kit to and from away fixtures.
