Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of midfielder James Vaughan. The 28-year-old joins the Wings following his departure from Eastbourne Borough, re-uniting with his former boss Danny Bloor at Park View Road ahead of the 2023/24 season.

Bexhilll-born Vaughan has spent much of his career in the USA having earned a University scholarship. Returning to the UK in 2020, he became an integral part of Bloor’s Eastbourne side, wracking up 30 league appearances at Priory Lane last season.

After representing University side Northwood Timberwolves, Vaughan embarked on spells with AFC Ann Arbor, Michigan Bucks and Detroit City in the USL Championship before returning to the UK and he now becomes the Wings latest addition as Bloor builds his squad for the new season.
