Welling United are delighted to confirm that defender Taylor Curran has agreed a new deal to keep him at Park View Road for the 2023/24 season.

The 23-year-old initially arrived on loan from Maidstone United at the back end of the 2021/22 campaign before making the move permanent last summer.

With injuries hampering his progress last term, Curran will now be hoping to make an impact for the Wings under new boss Danny Bloor.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Curran said: “I’ve got to thank everyone at Welling – the new manager, the boss, the fans and everyone for wanting me to come back and prove what I know I can do and prove to the fans what I can do.

“There were a lot of downs for me last year and not a lot of ups personally with the injuries, so it was nice to be offered to come back. It’s nice to put it all behind me and it’s new beginnings. The club is heading in the right direction and I’m glad to be a part of it.”

Curran began his career through the youth ranks at Southend United before making the move to Swindon Town in 2019. He made 13 league appearances for the Robins before departing for Maidstone in 2021.

Season tickets for the 2023/24 campaign are now on sale with ahead of the new season as the club celebrates its 60th anniversary.
