Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of striker Alex MacAllister on loan from Aldershot Town.

The 19-year old signed a professional contract with the National league side this summer as reward for his impressive performances for the club’s U23s and was handed his league debut off the bench against Wrexham last November.

MacAllister has featured for the Wings as a trialist during pre-season and netted against Cray Wanderers in the friendly at Hayes Lane earlier this month.

“It’s taken a few weeks to get it over the line, but many thanks to Aldershot for helping us to get Alex in,” explained Wings boss Danny Bloor.

“He’s a young player that is going to get better and better and he really fits into our mould of how we want to do things at Welling United this season.

“He has a lot of promise, he’s willing and able and I think he’ll become a firm favourite of the Park View Road faithful.”

MacAllister added: “It feels good. I just need to play football and get minutes and Danny has really impressed me since I came in.

“I’ve really enjoyed it since I came in. It’s crucial for me to play games and make that step up from last year. It’s important for me to carry on developing.

“I’m excited for it, I can’t wait.”

The young forward enjoyed loan spells at Winchester City, Hartley Wintney and Kingstonian last season and he now arrives at Park View Road as he looks to continue to development.
