Welling United round-up their pre-season preparations as they host a Luton Town XI at Park View Road on Tuesday evening (7pm).
The friendly provides the final opportunity for Danny Bloor to fine-tune his team ahead of the opening day of the league season on Saturday when the Wings head to Truro City.
Bloor has had to manage his squad in recent weeks to ensure fitness ahead of the big kick-off with Mitchell Dickenson, Kain Adom and Enoch Muwonge missing out on the weekend’s victory at Beckenham Town, while James Vaughan is expected to be involved having missed Saturday through illness.
Luton enjoyed promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history with a play-off final victory over Coventry City on penalties in May.
The Hatters will send their development squad to DA16 on Tuesday night and they will be sure to provide a stern final test for the Wings ahead of the long trip to Plymouth on Saturday.
Danny Bloor: “It’s the final dress rehearsal ahead of the big kick-off and it will be a good test for us.
“We’re looking forward to the game. We know this season will be a lot of hard work, there will be a lot to learn, but the players are smiling and enjoying it, as always.
Tickets for the friendly against Luton Town XI are available to purchase online in advance and will also be available for cash and card at the turnstiles on the evening of the match priced £10 adults and £5 concessions, students and U16s, while U11s go free with an accompanying adult.
Turnstiles will open at 5.45pm with the Wings Bar and upstairs bar open for all supporters. (Please note that the marquee bar will not be serving, although fans are able to use the marquee as a seating area.)
Hot food will be available from the food outlet on the right-hand side as you enter the ground, while the Travis Perkins bar will be open for teas, coffees, cold drinks, snacks and pies.
There will be no matchday programme available on Saturday afternoon, but teamsheets will be available from the club shop from around 6.15pm.
