The Wings return to league action on Saturday when they head to Priory Lane to take on Eastbourne Borough (3pm).

Welling will come into the game with their tails up following a memorable victory at local rivals Dartford in the FA Cup last Saturday and boss Danny Bloor will be hoping to continue the momentum going into the clash against his former club.

Mitchell Dickenson may well be in contention to be available against his old side after completing 70 minutes in Tuesday’s friendly at Billericay Town, while Enoch Muwonge completed 90.

The Wings were certainly boosted by the arrival of striker Tristan Abrahams last weekend and he may be in line to make his league debut for the club on the south coast.

THE OPPOSITION

The Sports have had an indifferent start to their campaign, winning three, drawing one and losing five of their opening nine league fixtures, leaving them in 16th position with 10 points, three ahead of the Wings.

Their last league outing saw them lost out 3-2 at Yeovil Town and they followed that up with a 1-0 home defeat to Worthing in the FA Cup last Saturday.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Danny Bloor: “It’s been a fantastic week and, for the first time this season, we’ve got a completely clean bill of health so we’re looking forward to travelling down to the south coast on Saturday.”
