Welling United are delighted to announce Sian Ansell as the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Sian joins the club having previously held the position of Commercial and Community Manager at Eastbourne Borough and she begins her role at the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium with immediate effect.

Speaking following her appointment, she said: “It feels great to be here. The way in which we want to take Welling United through this season and beyond is something I really want to be part of.

“Our league position doesn’t really show what we’re doing at the moment, but the way we’re playing our football and the vision that the owners and directors have is something I couldn’t turn down.

“There are a lot of challenges – on the pitch, they’re working very hard and it’s the same story off the pitch. There is a lot to sort out, but we can put our stamp on it and move forward.

“I can’t wait to get out in the community and show off the football club. Our plan is to engage with the community. We need the younger generation to come in, watch us play and become lifelong supporters like so many other supporters have done over years.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting the fans and dealing with anything that they want to talk to me about, be it the good, the bad or the ugly.”

Meanwhile, Wings boss Danny Bloor, who has previously worked with Sian at Eastbourne, added: “Sian is very much someone who will be an excellent addition for this football club.

“Hopefully, she’ll achieve similar things to those she achieved at our previous club. She’ll work extremely hard, as we’re all doing, to bring success to our club.”
