Welling United’s FA Trophy second round fixture against Taunton Town on Saturday has been postponed following a pitch inspection at the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium.
After recent heavy rainfall, concerns were raised over certain parts of the playing surface, leading to a local referee being called to carry out a pitch inspection on Friday.
Taking into account the heavy rainfall which is scheduled overnight and into Saturday morning, as well as the distance required to travel for Saturday’s opponents and their supporters, a decision has been made to postpone the tie.
A new date for the rearranged tie will be announced once confirmed.
Any tickets purchased in advance will be valid for the new date. Supporters who are unable to make the date for the rearranged fixture can request a refund via the club’s TicketPass platform.
