The Wings hit the road heading for the coast on Saturday with Weymouth the opponents at the Bob Lucas Stadium (3pm).

Danny Bloor’s men will fight through the storm to take on the Terras, looking to build on back-to-back goalless home draws with Maidstone United and Chippenham Town last week.

With plenty of games coming up over the next few weeks, it provides Welling with the perfect opportunity to starting gaining points to climb the National League South table.

Monday’s London Senior Cup victory at New Salamis may give Bloor food for thought with Enoch Muwonge in particular impressing and bagging a brace having made his full league debut against Chippenham Town two days earlier.

Mitchell Dickenson remains sidelined with injury, but Ben Winterbottom is available for selection again between the sticks if called upon.

THE OPPOSITION

After staging a great escape to avoid a second consecutive relegation last term, Weymouth will have eyes on the safety of a mid-table finish this season. They currently occupy 18th position in the National League South with four wins, five draws and six defeats from their 15 games played, so far.

They come into the game with just one win in seven, although they have picked up four draws during the same run, losing twice.

PRE-MATCH CHAT

Danny Bloor: “Training has been a challenge this week – the conditions have been pretty wet throughout the country, but the boys’ spirits, as usual, have been absolutely fantastic and we look forward to the trip to Weymouth.”

Weymouth winger, Keelan O’Connell: “Obviously, we want to get a win at home. We feel disappointed with how last Saturday went and, as a team, we could have played better.

“But at the moment, we’re all in a confident place as we know what we can do, so three points is what we’re after.”
