Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of midfielder Josh Chambers on an initial one-month loan from Gillingham.

The 19-year old is a product of the Gills’ academy and made his senior debut in a League One victory over Doncaster Rovers in March 2022, before making his first start for the club against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light – in total, he has made eight senior appearances for the League Two side.

Last season, Chambers joined Worthing in November and went on to play a key part in there charge for the play-offs, making 26 league appearances, scoring three goals.

He now joins the Wings to bolster Danny Bloor’s midfield options and will be available to make his debut against Slough Town on Saturday afternoon.
