In-form Welling United make a swift return to action at the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium as they host Braintree Town on Saturday (3pm).

The Wings are enjoying an excellent run of form and come into the game unbeaten in seven league outings and off the back of another encouraging victory over Truro City on Tuesday night.

Indeed, those three points dragged Welling out of the bottom four for the first time since August with Rod Stringer’s men putting their fate in their own hands in their fight against the drop.

Stringer will continue to be without the injured Chiori Johnson, Will Wood and TJ Bramble, but Anthony Grant will be available once again having served his one-match suspension in midweek.

THE OPPOSITION

Alongside the Wings, Braintree are one of the most in-form sides in the league as they chase success in the play-offs.

A run of eight wins and a draw out of their last nine fixtures has seen them thrust themselves into fourth place in recent weeks.

They come into the game off the back of a 2-1 victory at Bath City on Tuesday and have won 17, drawn eight and lost nine of their 34 games played, so far.

The Iron have a familiar face in their ranks in the form of Dominic Odusanya, who left Welling to head to Essex in February.

LAST TIME OUT

Braintree claimed the points in the reverse fixture back in November with a 4-1 victory.

A disastrous first 25 minutes saw the Wings fall to a three-goal deficit which they simply could not recover from, despite emerging for the second half in spirited fashion with Dominic Odusanya pulling a goal back.
