Welling United return to league action at the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium on Saturday as they host Tonbridge Angels (3pm).

Following their exit from the FA Trophy last weekend, the Wings’ full focus is set on surviving the drop from National League South and their run of three league outings without defeat will give them confidence going into Saturday’s clash with the Angels.

Rod Stringer will be without the suspended Dominic Odusanya and Tristan Abrahams, while Chiori Johnson also remains sidelined through injury.

THE OPPOSITION

Tonbridge sit slap bang in mid-table, occupying 12th position in National League South with 12 wins, eight draws and 13 defeats from their 33 games, so far.

Their last six outings have seen them lose four and win two and they come into the game off the back of a 4-2 home defeat to Yeovil Town last weekend.

LAST TIME OUT

The Wings secured a 1-0 Bank Holiday victory in the reverse fixture back in August.

Jack Burchell’s first-half header proved to be the difference as the Wings put on an excellent display away from home to secure the points.
