Welling United hit the road again on Saturday as they head to Hardenhuish Park to take on Chippenham Town (3pm).

The Wings have been in excellent form with a run of just one defeat in 12 and picking up 23 points from a possible 36, which has seen them pull themselves six points clear of the relegation zone with seven games remaining.

With the season now firmly at the business end, Rod Stringer will expect to see no let-up from his side, who secured another good point away from home on Tuesday night at promotion-chasing Hampton & Richmond.

THE OPPOSITION

Chippenham have enjoyed another solid season in National League South, enjoying the safety of mid-table.

They come into the game in their own good run of form with three victories on the bounce, beating Taunton Town away from home in their most recent outing on Wednesday evening.

The Bluebirds currently sit in 12th position with 14 wins, 12 draws and 13 defeats from their 39 games played.

LAST TIME OUT

Welling United were forced to share the spoils from a frustrating goalless draw with Chippenham Town at the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium in the reverse fixture back in October.

Despite enjoying much the better of the action, a number of golden opportunities came and went for the Wings, but they just could not find that killer touch to turn one point into three.
