The Wings return to action on home turf on Saturday as they host Weston-super-Mare (3pm).

Following Tuesday evening’s postponement, Rod Stringer’s men will be well-rested and buoyed by last weekend‘s impressive 1-0 victory at runaway league-leaders Yeovil Town as they continue their fight against the drop.

Indeed, Welling come into the game with just one defeat in their last 10 outings, winning five and drawing four along the way and find themselves in 19th position in National League South with 40 points having leapfrogged neighbours Dartford.

With some teams around them possessing games in hand, the Wings will want to continue their good run of form to keep their heads above water with the end of the season rapidly approaching and 27 points still to play for.

THE OPPOSITION

Weston-super-Mare have enjoyed a reasonably-steady first season back in the sixth tier since their promotion last summer.

They currently occupy 14th place with 14 wins, six draws and 15 defeats from their 35 games played, so far.

They come into the game off the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to St Albans City on Tuesday evening, but claimed back-to-back victories over Chippenham Town and Dober Athletic in their two fixtures prior.

LAST TIME OUT

Weston claimed all three points in the reverse fixture back in December.

Reueben Reid put the hosts in front before half-time, before Tristan Abrahams levelled for the Wings early in the second period.

But a Will Wood own goal was followed by another Reid strike, while James Morton added a fourth for the home side who conceded a late consolation to Josh Chambers as Weston won 4-2.
