Hello wings!
Just wanted to provide everyone an update on what’s been going on in and around the club during the first weeks of the off season. Believe me, everyone is still working as hard as ever to make sure next season starts with a bang!
I know a lot of fans have been wondering what’s going on regarding the redevelopment, and it’s important to emphasise major redevelopments take a long time to be processed. As I write this, we are waiting for an update from the council regarding our latest plans, and the response from them so far has been very positive. It is essential that we get this redevelopment processed to ensure the longevity of our football club!
Also, listening to another fan requested idea, we are currently looking at and testing implementing a pre pour system for our bars. This will include fans “pre ordering” their pints and will be able to pick them up from our pre pouring station. The aim of this is to reduce queues in the bar, something all of us have realised in recent seasons. If this idea does / doesn’t come into place, it will be communicated directly to fans with a reason why.
I personally along with my fellow board members have been massive advocates for reconnecting with the local community. Over the next few weeks, we will be walking into shops along the high street and surrounding areas, handing out leaflets (printed locally), connecting with businesses and spreading the word about Welling United. Also, we will be entering local schools handing out free tickets and other goodies. This is a huge step in the right direction, as PVR is a huge unique selling point for our club, as we are one of the only clubs directly on the high street in our community.
Also, on the 15th June I will be attending the St Mary’s community event representing our club on the shoulder of Mutton Green. There will be a footballing activity to get involved with, along with the opportunity for people to have a chat about what’s going on with the club going forward. Communication is vital to ensure we reconnect with our fans!
Just as a reminder, PVR will be opening for the European Championships starting in June. England’s group games with hopefully their route to the final will all be shown live on the big screens at Park View Road. So, drop your plans and pack out the bars, can’t wait to see you all there!

Also just wanted to say thank you on behalf of the new operational board for the fantastic response to the announcement. We are dedicated to making sure our football club gets back to where we belong.
