Welling United will begin their 2024/25 season with a home clash against Aveley on Saturday, August 10th (3pm).
The Wings’ Vanarama National League south season has been mapped out after the release of the fixtures on Wednesday afternoon and Rod Stringer’s men will kick off their campaign at Park View Road against the Millers.
Seven days later, Welling will head to Somerset to take on Bath City at Twerton Park for the first away day of the season.
Meanwhile, the festive period has seen the Wings paired with Chelmsford City at home on Boxing Day (Thursday, December 26th) and will head to Maidstone United on New Year’s Day (Wednesday, January 1st).
Historically, the Christmas and New Year schedules have been reversed, in that the Boxing Day fixtures are reversed with the New Year Day fixture, therefore playing the same team in a close timeframe.
However, after surveying all clubs, the National League Board agreed that the League will reverse the 2024/25 season’s Boxing Day fixtures with Good Friday and New Year with Easter Monday.
Therefore, Welling will host Maidstone on Good Friday (Friday, April 18th), before heading to Chelmsford City on Easter Monday (Monday, April 21st).
Other fixtures to look out for are trips to new grounds in the form of newly-promoted Hornchurch on Monday, August 26th and Enfield Town on Tuesday, February 11th, while trips to Salisbury and Chesham United take place on Saturday, December 21st and Saturday, March 29th, respectively.
Elsewhere, the journeys to relegated Boreham Wood and Dorking Wanderers await on Saturday, September 21st and Saturday, October 26th.
Finally, Welling’s regular season will come to an end with a home meeting with Salisbury on Saturday, April 26th.
