Welling United return to Park View Road on Saturday as they host Chesham United (3pm).

In what is the second of three consecutive Saturday home matchdays, the Wings will be coming up against a second newly-promoted side in as many games as they look to continue their solid start to the campaign.

Monday’s goalless draw at Hornchurch saw Welling secure their seventh point from their four games, so far, and they will hope to repeat the form of their last last outing on home turf last weekend when they blew away then-league-leaders Farnborough 4-1.

Rod Stringer will be checking on the fitness of Zain Walker after he was forced off on Saturday, while Harvey Walker remains a long-term absentee with a broken leg.

THE OPPOSITION

Chesham won promotion to the National League South after lifting the Southern League Premier Division title last season.

Their first five games in the sixth tier has seen them lose three, draw one and win one, with their only victory coming in a 2-1 success at St Albans City last weekend.

They come into the game off the back of a dramatic 3-2 home loss to Torquay Untied – the Gulls netted a 95th-minute winner against the hosts who battled for the whole of the second half following Jack Cawley’s dismissal.

Cawley will be available for selection on Saturday with his suspension kicking in after seven days.
