Welling United return to action as they host Farnborough at Park View Road on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

The Wings will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s controversial defeat at Bath City and will be hoping for a repeat performance of the 1-0 victory over Aveley.

Rod Stringer will be without the suspended Jack Burchell following his questionable dismissal at Twerton Park on Saturday, while Harvey Walker remains a long-term absentee as he recovers from a broken leg.

THE OPPOSITION

Farnborough have made a positive start to the season, winning three from three.

They claimed a 2-1 victory in their opening-day trip to Chippenham Town, before following up with a 1-0 victory at home to Torquay United last weekend.

And their first midweek fixture of the campaign saw them beat Eastbourne Borough 2-0 at home on Tuesday evening.

They come into the game top of the National League South table as the only team to have maintained a 100% record.

LAST TIME OUT

The Wings were forced to share a point with Farnborough from a dramatic 2-2 draw last time the sides met in DA16 back in October 2023.

After taking the lead through Dominic Odusanya, Welling were pegged back after the break, but looked to have won it late on when sub TJ Bramble hit the net in the 87th minute.

However, the visitors rescued a draw moments later to snatch the points from the hosts.
