Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of centre-back Jacob Mensah following a successful trial period.

The 24-year old began his career with Ramsgate as a 16-year-old, wracking up over 70 appearances as a teen and attracting the attention of Crystal Palace.

A move to Selhurst Park in 2019 saw Mensah represent the Eagles’ U23s for 18 months, before he joined Weymouth in the National League in January 2021.

Spells with Morecambe, Maidstone United and, most recently, Torquay United followed before he linked up with Dover Athletic last term, making 26 league appearances.

He now arrives in DA16 as Rod Stringer finalises his squad ahead of the start of the 2024/25 Vanarama National League South season.

Mensah could make his Wings debut on Saturday in the opening-day clash with Aveley at Park View Road.
