Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of left-sided defender Alex Lankshear on loan from Blackpool.

22-year-old Lankshear came through the youth ranks at St Albans City, breaking through to the first team during the 2021/22 season.

His performances caught the eye of then-Championship side Blackpool with the youngster making the move to Bloomfield Road in the summer of 2022.

He made his senior debut for the Seasiders off the bench in a 1-0 victory at Norwich City on the final day of the season, before joining Dorking Wanderers for a loan spell at the start of the 2023/24 campaign.

Lankshear gained more senior experience with an appearance for Blackpool in a 4-1 EFL Trophy win over Crewe Alexandra earlier this month and he now joins the Wings as Rod Stringer looks to strengthen his defensive options with the loan initially set until January 5th.
