In-form Welling United head back on the road on Saturday as they make the journey to Surrey to take on Dorking Wanderers (3pm).

The Wings have enjoyed a fruitful week, picking maximum points and a pair of clean sheets from their last two outings with 1-0 victories over St Albans City and Enfield Town and they will be looking to continue their positive run at Meadowbank this weekend.

Rod Stringer’s men climbed up to 16th in the National League South table in midweek, three points behind Saturday’s opponents, but they still. have a number of injury concerns to contend with with Harvey Walker and Teddy Perkins remaining long-term absentees, while Jack Burchell and Anthony Grant remain doubts having missed out over the last week.

However, Zain Walker and Ben Wells are both nearing a return to fitness, while Alex Lankshear will be available despite his dismissal against Enfield, with his ban set to kick in next weekend when Chippenham Town visit Park View Road.

THE OPPOSITION

After two seasons in the National League, Dorking returned to the sixth tier this season following relegation in April.

Marc White’s men will be eyeing up an immediate return, but find themselves in 10th position after 13 games having won five, drawn four and lost four.

Their last five outings have seen them share a 1-1 draw with Weston-super-Mare with 10 men, before earning back-to-back wins against Hornchurch and Hemel Hempstead Town (again with a one-man disadvantage following a dismissal), before drawing 3-3 with 10-man Salisbury City last weekend and losing 1-0 at Tonbridge Angels in midweek.
