Welling United head to Hertfordshire on Saturday as they take on St Albans City at Clarence Park (3pm).

After a run of five straight defeats in all competitions, the Wings will be looking to stop the rot against the Saints who themselves are looking to turn around their fortunes.

In terms of team news, long-term absentees Harvey Walker and Zain Walker will remain sidelined, as will Ben Wells and Teddy Perkins.

Paul Osew will be hoping for a return to action after a recent spell on the sidelines, while TJ Bramble will be pushing for a place in the squad as he nears full fitness.

THE OPPOSITION

St Albans City have endured a difficult start to their 2024/25 campaign.

With 11 games played, they’ve won only once, drawing three and losing seven, leaving them in 22nd position in National League South.

Their first victory came in their last outing, coming away from a trip to Hampton & Richmond Borough with a 1-0 win last weekend.

They will be without Leyton Orient loanee Philip Chinedu, who was sent off in their recent 4-3 home defeat to Salisbury City.

LAST TIME OUT

The two sides shared a point from a 1-1 draw the last time they met at Clarence Park back in February.

After Ryan Blackman had diverted a Wings free-kick into his own goal on 25 minutes, the hosts responded just two minutes later via Shaun Jeffers.
