Welling United return to action with a trip to Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).
After the disappointment of defeat to Chippenham Town on Saturday, Wings boss Rod Stringer will be expecting a reaction from his side in East Sussex.
They will be boosted by the return of Alex Lankshear after the Blackpool loanee served his one-match suspension at the weekend, but Welling will still be without stopper Rhys Lovett and long-term absentee Harvey Walker, while Ben Wells will be pushing for involvement as he nears a return to fitness.
THE OPPOSITION
Eastbourne have enjoyed an encouraging start to the season and will go into Tuesday’s match sitting on top of the Vanarama National League South table.
They have secured eight wins, four draws and three defeats from their 15 games, so far, accumulating 28 points.
Over the last week, they have claimed back-to-back wins over Boreham Wood and Hemel Hempstead with former Wings George Alexander bagging a hat-trick in a 5-2 win over 10-man Hemel on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Sports claimed three points with a narrow 1-0 win over the Wings in the reverse fixture at Park View Road on October 12th.
A first-half penalty proved to be the difference on the day and despite an encouraging second-half showing from the hosts, they could not find the leveller their efforts deserved.
