Edit: Following a pitch inspection on Tuesday afternoon, the fixture has now been postponed
Welling United return to league action on Tuesday evening as they host Weymouth at Park View Road (7.45pm).
After five straight defeats in the league and FA Trophy, the Wings will be hoping to arrest their run of form and aim to look up the Vanarama National League South table.
Rod Stringer’s men come into the game in 19th position, four points ahead of the bottom four, including Tuesday night’s opponents.
In terms of team news, Welling will be checking on the fitness of Rhys Lovett with the goalkeeper having been sidelined in recent weeks after sustaining a head injury and a broken finger during the recent trip to Dorking Wanderers.
Meanwhile, Daniel Martin is likely to remain absent through injury, while Zain Walker will also miss out having been forced off on Saturday.
Gene Kennedy will be assessed after the midfielder also picked up an injury at the weekend, while Dave Winfield will serve the second game of a two-match suspension having accumulated five yellow cards before his subsequent dismissal against Truro City.
THE OPPONENTS
Weymouth have been steadying the ship in recent weeks after a torrid start to the campaign which saw them lose their first seven league games.
The last month has seen them embark on a run of seven games unbeaten in all competitions (five wins, two draws) leaving them in 22nd position in National League South with two wins, six draws and eight defeats from their 16 league games played, so far.
LAST TIME OUT
Welling secured their Vanarama National League South safety with a point from a goalless draw with Weymouth when the sides last met at Park View Road back in April.
While the game will not go down as a classic in terms of action, there were plenty of celebrations at the final whistle as the Wings faithful toasted their club’s great escape.
