Welling United head to Phoenix Sports in the quarter-finals of the Kent Senior Cup on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).
The Wings booked their date in the last eight thanks to a 2-1 victory over Maidstone United in October, while Phoenix defeated Cray Wanderers on penalties after a 2-2 draw, having already dispatched of Folkestone Invicta on penalties in the previous round.
THE OPPOSITION
Phoenix currently sit bottom of the Isthmian South East table with two wins, one draw and 16 defeats from their 19 league games, so far.
They cup into the cup clash off the back of a 2-1 defeat at Deal Town on Saturday.
CUP HISTORY
The Wings have lifted the Kent Senior Cup on three occasions, with the last success coming in 2009. Their other two final victories came in 1986 and 1999.
Last season saw Welling bow out of the competition at the second round stage following defeat at Sevenoaks Town.
Phoenix Sports have never won the Kent Senior Cup. Their best showing came with a run to the semi-finals in 2020 when they were beaten by Dartford.
