Welling United hit the road for the last game before Christmas as they head to Salisbury on Saturday (3pm).

The Wings will be hoping to continue their good run of form which has seen them go five games unbeaten in all competitions and will look to build on the three points earned at home to Bath City last time out.

Rod Stringer’s men come into the game nine points clear of the bottom four in 18th position and will be keen to keep their distance from Saturday’s opponents, who lay in 19th, three points behind.

Welling will continue to be without the injured Harvey Walker who has stepped up his return from a broken leg with some  running this week, while Daniel Martin will also be unavailable.

Anthony Grant will be available having served a one-match ban last weekend following an accumulation of five yellow cards.

THE OPPOSITION

Phoenix club Salisbury rose from the ashes of Salisbury City in 2014. Starting in the Wesses League, a number of promotions over the last decade saw them become a Vanarama National League South side this season following a Southern League Premier play-off final victory over AFC Totton on penalties.

They come into the game in 19th place in the league with five wins, six draws and 10 defeats from their 21 games, so far.

Last weekend saw them suffer a 2-0 defeat at home to Maidstone United.
