Welling United return to Park View Road on Tuesday evening with a spring in their step as they take on Hemel Hempstead Town (7.45pm).

After a truly-impressive 4-1 away victory at Weston-super-Mare on Saturday, the Wings will be looking to build on that positivity with another three points against the Tudors on home turf.

Rod Stringer’s side has been invigorated with the arrival of the ‘Eastbourne four’, with James Alabi, Jayden Davis, Finn Ballard-McBride and Dan Quick all enjoying eye-catching debuts at the weekend.

Rhys Lovett will continue to be sidelined, while the game will likely come too soon for Harvey Walker, who is drawing ever nearer to a return to action.

THE OPPOSITION

After a lightening start to the season which saw them occupy top spot for some of the early part of the season, Hemel Hempstead’s form quickly tailed off, seeing them tumble back into the bottom half of the table, prompting the departure of Manager Bobby Wilkinson in December.

They currently occupy 16th position in Vanarama Natinal League South with 10 wins, four draws and 13 defeats under their belt and have enjoyed a decent few weeks under new boss Lee Allinson.

The Tudors come into Tuesday evening’s match off the back of three consecutive victories, including a 3-0 win at home to Truro City on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT

The Wings fell to a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Hemel Hempstead Town in an entertaining reverse fixture back in September.

After going into the break a goal down, Welling regained their footing early in the second half through Anointed Chukwu to get things back on track.

But the then league-leaders responded with three more goals to end all visiting hope, while Gene Kennedy’s late strike proved to be a mere consolation.
