Welling United return to Park View Road for the first time in 2025 on Tuesday evening as they host Weymouth (7.45pm).

The Wings will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing festive period which saw them suffer three defeats, despite encouraging performances, and get their 2025 up and running as they look to clim the table.

Elliot Long is likely to miss out again as he nurses an ankle injury, while Harvey Walker remains sidelined as he continues his rehabilitation from a broken leg.

THE OPPONENTS

A difficult first half of the campaign sees Weymouth occupying bottom spot coming into Tuesday night’s fixture with two wins, nine draws and 12 defeats from their 23 games, so far, amassing 15 points.

Their league position prompted a change in the dugout at the end of November with Mark Molesley relieved of his duties as former Welling boss Warren Feeney was brought in, tasked with steering the Terras to survival.

His first four games in charge has seen  Weymouth pick up three draws on the spin in the league, before bowing out of the FA Trophy at home to Boreham Wood on Saturday.

LAST TIME OUT

Welling secured their Vanarama National League South safety with a point from a goalless draw with Weymouth when the sides last met at Park View Road back in April.

While the game will not go down as a classic in terms of action, there were plenty of celebrations at the final whistle as the Wings faithful toasted their club’s great escape.
