Welling United return to league action on Saturday as they head to Hardenhuish Park to take on Chippenham Town (3pm).
The Wings will be buoyed by their dramatic Kent Senior Cup semi-final victory over Dover Athletic on Tuesday and will hope it proves to be a catalyst as they look to turn their league form around following a challenging few weeks.
Rod Stringer will be without the injured Chiori Johnson for the journey to the west country, while Dan Martin’s fitness will be assessed after he was forced off at the break in Saturday’s defeat to Dorking Wanderers.
THE OPPOSITION
The Bluebirds currently sit within the safety of mid-table, occupying 12th position in Vanarama National League South.
Their 32 games have resulted in 13 wins, five draws and 14 defeats and they come into Saturday’s match with 44 points under their belts.
Chippenham have enjoyed a decent run of form over the last month, winning four of their last five games and they have enjoyed back-to-back victories over the last week against Chesham United and Hampton & Richmond Borough.
LAST TIME OUT
Welling were made to pay for a sloppy opening quarter of a frustrating game against Chippenham in the reverse fixture back in November, with the visitors walking away with a 4-0 victory.
An disastrous opening period saw the visiting side essentially wrap up the game inside just 13 minutes with the Bluebirds racing into a three-goal lead, before adding a fourth late on.
