Welling United host Brentford B in the quarter-finals of the London Senior Cup at Park View Road on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Having already lifted the Kent Senior Cup with victory over Ebbsfleet United in the final at Priestfield Stadium last week, the Wings will be eyeing up a county cup double if they can get past the Bees and secure a place in the last four.

Welling booked their date against the Bees with a 2-1 victory over Bromley at Park View Road earlier this month, having beaten Sporting Bengal United 3-0 in round two, while Brentford dispatched of Newham 5-1 in the last round after securing a 2-0 win at Redbridge in the previous round.

The winners of the tie will go on to host Barking in the semi-finals of the competition. The other semi-final sees Hanwell Town host Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday, April 15th.

THE OPPOSITION

Brentford B currently occupy top spot in the U21 Professional Development League South table, two points clear of second place Millwall with 18 wins, three draws and five defeats from their 26 games played.

Their last outing saw them secure a 2-1 victory at Burnley on Friday thanks to an Isaac Holland brace.

CUP HISTORY

The Wings have lifted the trophy on two separate occasions – the first in 1990 and the second in 2019 when they defeated Brentford B 1-0 to claim the silverware.

Brentford, meanwhile, have also won the competition twice – in 1898 and, more recently, in 2022 when they defeated Hendon 3-0 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in the final.

The Bees enjoyed a run of three final appearances in four seasons having been defeated by the Wings in 2019 and Hendon in 2020.
