Welling United head to Chelmsford City on Monday for their final away game of the 2024/25 season (3pm).
With relegation having been confirmed on Friday, the Wings only have pride to play for from their remaining two fixtures, with sights now set on plans a successful campaign in 2025/26 and an immediate return to step two.
Chiori Johnson and Zain Walker will continue to miss out through injury, while the Easter Monday clash may also come too soon for former Chelmsford skipper Dave Winfield as he nears a return from injury.
Deon Moore is also a doubt after limping off during the first half of Friday’s defeat to Maidstone United.
THE OPPOSITION
The Clarets have maintained a steady, if inconstant, mid-table campaign this season and come into Monday’s game in 13th position in National League South having won 14, drawn 14 and lost 16 of their 44 games.
They have won one of their last six outings and have faced back-to-back defeats to Enfield Town and Aveley in their last two encounters.
LAST TIME OUT
Welling slipped to a narrow defeat to Chelmsford at Park View Road in the reverse fixture on Boxing Day.
After a close-fought post-Christmas battle, it took a late goal for the Essex side to claim the points on a frustrating afternoon.
