Welling United are delighted to confirm Ryan Mason and his business Funky Group as a major investor into the club.

Funky Group’s investment will secure financial stability and enable the club to invest in the infrastructure both on and off the pitch to help develop the club with new facilities for the benefit of all supporters and the local community.

Howard Prosser, Welling United owner and Chairman said: “I am delighted to have secured our new investors and this will create exciting times on the next steps of our club’s journey.”

Meanwhile, Ryan Mason added: “We are looking forward to building and developing the club on and off the pitch in the coming months and years.

“It’s a very exciting time for Welling United and I’m very proud that we can help play our part towards a better future for the club.”

Beginning with Funky Monk, a restaurant, bar and hotel in Epping, Funky Group is a luxury collection of businesses which has expanded their portfolio to include seven luxury hospitality locations across the UK.

In addition, their collection features a fine art gallery, a horse racing ownership club, a DAB and FM (FM available in Canary Islands & Balearics regions) radio station, and two further hospitality sites in the Canary Islands.
