Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of experienced midfielder Jack Paxman.
The 31-year-old arrives as the Wings’ first signing of the summer and will take the captain’s armband forthe2025/26 season.
Paxman emerged through the academy at Southend United before going on to earn a wealth of experience in non-League.
He represented Chelmsford City and Witham Town before making the move to Maidstone United in 2015, earning back-to-back promotions from the Ryman League through to the National League during his first two seasons at the club.
After more than four seasons with the Stones, where he became a mainstay of their side, he then spent a season with Billericay Town, prior to a move to Ebbsfleet United in 2020.
During his three-year stay with the Fleet, Paxman embarked on loan spells with Braintree Town, Dover Athletic and Worthing before joining Eastbourne Borough on a permanent basis in 2023.
A move to Ramsgate followed in January 2024, prior to a return to Billericay for the 2024/25 season and he now arrives at Park View Road as Lee Martin’s first signing as Welling boss.
Speaking of his new arrival, Martin said: “I’m delighted to welcome Jack,
“He’s a player I’ve had the pleasure of being around a lot during my career. I’m thrilled now to have the opportunity to bring him alongside me as my captain.
“His infectious energy and incredible technical ability make him a standout player at this level, at this stage of his career I felt it was fitting that he led this exciting team forward.”
