Welling United are delighted to confirm that midfielder Cameron Andrews has been retained for the 2025/26 season.

The 21-year old academy graduate has been continuing his development after making his league debut as a teenager during the 2022/23 season, before going on to make a total of eight National League South appearances in his maiden season in senior football.

Andrews has taken in loans at Bowers & Pitsea, Erith & Belvedere and, most recently, Phoenix Sports where he scored twice in a short spell towards the end of the 2024/25 campaign.

He will now remain at Park View Road for another season as he looks to make an impact under new boss Lee Martin.

Speaking after extending his stay in DA16, Andrews said: “It felt right to continue the journey. I haven’t played as many games as I’ve wanted to, but it feels like this season will be big for me.

“Last season was a bit stop-start for me, but there were some positives for me to pick up on, especially with the loan towards the end of the season, so I’m excited for the season coming. It feels like a season for me to prove myself right.

“I don’t have any doubt in my ability or work ethic, so it’s about proving to myself that I am as good as I think I am.”

Meanwhile, Wings boss Lee Martin added: “We are delighted to have retained Cam.

“At 21, he is still developing at a club he knows well, and I’m very eager to work closely with him throughout the pre-season period.

“I believe he possesses immense potential and simply needs the right opportunities and a playing style that complements his skills.”
