Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of midfielder Jack Leahy.
The 22-year-old emerged through the academy at Brighton & Hove Albion taking in a loan at Merstham before making the move to Cardiff City in 2021.
While representing the Bluebirds’ U23 side, he enjoyed a loan spell with Welsh outfit Haverfordwest County and, after a two-year spell in Wales, made a permanent switch to Hornchurch in 2023.
Spells with Chipstead and Lewes followed before a move to Cray Wanderers last season and he now joins the Wings as Lee Martin’s fourth signing of the summer.

Speaking shortly after becoming a Welling player, Leahy said: “It feels really exciting. For a team like Welling, the goal should be to go back up next season, so it will be exciting to be part of that challenge.
“I like to work hard and get goals and assists. I’m a versatile midfielder who can play in the middle or out wide. I’m really looking forward to getting out there in front of the fans.”
Wings boss Martin added: “I’m thrilled to be able to announce Jack. He fits our criteria perfectly in terms of age and has an impressive football foundation.
“He’s a fantastically-gifted, technical player, who also provides much needed versatility within our squad.
“Jack has real significant potential to develop his game further here.”
