Welling United round off their pre-season campaign with a clash against a Millwall XI at Park View Road on Friday evening (7.45pm). 

The friendly meeting against the Championship club provides Wings boss Lee Martin with one last opportunity to finesse his side ahead of the opening day trip to Cheshunt eight days later.

THE OPPOSITION

The Lions finished eighth in the Championship in 2024/25 and will be hoping for another push for a play-off position in the upcoming season under boss Alex Neil.

Millwall’s U21s enjoyed a positive season last term, taking the battle for the Professional Development League South title to the wire, missing out on top spot, and a place in the end-of-season play-off against their counterparts in the North division by one point.

Boss Kevin Nugent’s side won 20 of their 31 matches, losing just five and scoring 69 goals.
