Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of forward Greg Cundle.
The 28-year old emerged through the academy at Gillingham, making his senior debut for the Gills in a League One trip to Rochdale in March 2017, before going on to make a total of 13 first-team outings, scoring once.
During his time at Priestfeld Stadium, he embarked on loans with East Grinstead Town, Tilbury, Margate, Billericay Town, Bishop’s Stortford and Kingstonian, before joining the latter on a permanent basis in 2018.
A permanent return to East Grinstead followed where he enjoyed a prolific spell, netting 20 league games in 20 games during 2018/19, before stints with Concord Rangers and Horsham led to Ebbsfleet United snapping Cundle up in 2020.
A successful five-year stay with Fleet saw him play a key role in their National League South title-winning campaign in 2022/23, scoring 12 times in 45 games.
He went on to represent Ebbsfleet in the National League over the following two seasons and joined Maidstone United for a short loan spell last November.
Cundle now reunites with his former Fleet teammate and now boss Lee Martin at Park View Road, alongside fellow Ebbsfleet alumni Luke O’Neill and Jack Paxman.

Speaking after joining the Wings, Cundle said: “Once I knew Lee was coming in as manager, we were in touch. We spoke earlier in the summer and it took a few weeks, but we got there in the end.
“I’m naturally a winger, I like to be direct and get up and down the pitch, causing problems for defences.
“I’m looking forward to getting that kit on, getting out there with the boys, learning how each other play and get going towards the real stuff in August.”
Meanwhile, Martin added: “I’m truly excited to welcome Greg to the club.
“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside him for many years, so when the chance arose to bring him in, I jumped at it without hesitation.
“He’s a highly skilled player who brings, not only technical ability, but also the mindset and experience needed to lead and drive this young squad.
“I can’t wait to see the impact he’ll have this season.”
