The club can confirm that tickets for home fixtures at Park View Road will no longer be available to purchase online, with admission available only at the turnstiles on the day of the game going forward.
This decision has been made following a review by the club’s board into ways of maximising cost efficiency across all areas of operation, with the fees associated with the use of an online ticketing platform proving to be prohibitive.
In addition, there have been a number of incidences of adults (both home and away supporters) purchasing children’s tickets online which has led to staff receiving abuse when questioned at the turnstiles and the club wish to minimise these occurrences.
Club Chairman, Howard Prosser, said: “We fully understand that online ticketing provides added convenience for supporters and this is not a decision we have taken lightly.
“However, in the present circumstances, we must be as financially efficient as possible to ensure that every penny is focused on supporting the team and the club’s future. On behalf of the board, I’d like to thank all of our fans for their understanding and continued support of the club.”
Meanwhile, the club can also confirm that online ticket sales may be considered for specific fixtures in the future where larger crowds are expected, to help manage demand and ensure smooth entry on matchdays.
The club would like thank all supporters for their patience and continued loyalty and we look forward to welcoming you to Park View Road on Saturday, September 13th, when we host Slough Town in the FA Cup.
