Welling United are delighted to confirm the arrival of striker Femi Akinwande.
The 29-year old began his career in Millwall’s academy, before carving out a career in non-League football which began with Dartford.
He then represented the Fisher and Maldon & Tiptree before making a move to the EFL with Colchester United in 2015, making three league appearances over two years.
Whilst with the U’s, he embarked on loan spells with Bishop’s Stortford, Maldon & Tiptree and East Thurrock United, before joining the latter permanently in 2017.
Akinwande then headed to Concord Rangers which was followed by moves to Haringey Borough, Braintree Town and Billericay Town, before another opportunity in the EFL came about with Stevenage for the 2020/21 season, playing seven times in League Two whilst taking in a loan return to Dartford.
Returns to Braintree and Billericay followed and he has since represented Tonbridge Angels, Carshalton Athletic, Hastings United and Hornchurch before joining Billericay for a third spell in 2024, plundering 14 goals in 26 league appearances last term.
He now joins the Wings to bolster Lee Martin’s attacking options.
