In his programme notes for Tuesday evening’s fixture against Folkestone Invicta, Wings CEO, Paul Barnes, discusses the Project 4,000+ campaign as the club looks to boost crowds at Park View Road in November…

With six home fixtures in November, and on the back of nine away fixtures through October, we are urging supporters and residents in Bexley to join us in Project 4,000+ as we aim to break over 4,000 spectators at fixtures in November.

We have Folkestone twice, Burgess Hill, Cray Wanderers, Chatham, and Cheshunt all coming to Park View Road for home fixtures throughout this month, as we aim to start gathering points and push up the league table, so we are asking for you all to join us and play your part for every game this month.

As we welcome teams for five Isthmian Premier League fixtures and one Isthmian League Cup fixture, we recognise what a key part our supporters play, so we would like to see as many of you at all home games to help push the team to getting the results your support deserves.

We will be keeping supporters updated with our progress throughout the month and seeing how we are measuring up to our target, so if you have any friends or family that want to help push us closer to reach over 4,000 spectators in November, bring them along.

Feel free to let us know if you’ve managed to bring new people along and introduce them to the club, if you are coming to any of our Saturday fixtures at Park View Road, feel free to get to the game early and meet our newly appointed CEO, as we invite supporters to join us in the upstairs bar for our season ticket social and supporters’ welcome. Come in early and talk all things Welling United, how we can all play a part in pushing our club forward and enjoy an early game on our screens in the bar, as we will be providing free tea and coffee, or you can enjoy a pint from our bar which will be open to buy alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Look forward to seeing as many of you against Folkestone and Burgess Hill this week.
