The Ryan Maxwell era gets under way on Saturday as the Wings head to Billericay Town (3pm).
After getting a first look at his new squad in Tuesday’s Velocity Cup victory over Folkestone Invicta at Park View Road on Tuesday evening, the new boss will look to get off to a positive start in the league in Essex as he begins his task of pushing Welling back up the table.
In terms of team news, Greg Cundle will remain unavailable as he continues his recovery from a dislocated shoulder, while Jack Paxman will be assessed after he was forced off during the first half in midweek.
Luke Allen’s fitness will also have to be checked after the midfielder sat out of the last there fixtures.
THE OPPOSITION
Billericay occupy mid-table position, sitting 11th in the Isthmian League Premier Division table with five wins, seven draws and four defeats from their 16 games played, so far.
They come into the game off the back of a goalless draw at Whitehawk last weekend. That match put to a halt a run of three consecutive fixtures which saw them have a man sent off, with Jazzi Barnum Bobb being dismissed in a 3-1 win over Dartford after Ryan Scott had seen red in back-to-back games against Chtaham Town Cray Valley (PM).
