Welling United are proud to support The Salvation Army’s Emergency Food Provision Appeal in aid of helping some of the most vulnerable members of the Welling community.
The Salvation Army in Welling has introduced a referral-only emergency food provision service, aimed at ensuring individuals and families facing acute hardship receive essential support. To help sustain this vital project, The Salvation Army are seeking donations of non-perishable food items, including:
• Pasta and rice
• Tinned fruit and vegetables
• Tinned tomatoes, baked beans, spaghetti, pulses
• Canned meats and complete meals
• Teabags, coffee, sugar, long-life milk
• Any other non-perishable items supporters are able to give
As part of our commitment to the local community, the club will be facilitating donations on matchdays at Park View Road. Supporters can drop off contributions at our official collection point, located in the Wings Bar (small side room). The area will be clearly marked ‘Salvation Army Food Bank Collection Point’.
Wings CEO, Paul Barnes, said: “With the ongoing cost-of-living crisis affecting families across the country, we believe it is our responsibility to offer support wherever possible. After meeting the dedicated team at The Salvation Army and learning about the vital work of the Welling Salvation Army Emergency Food Provision, we knew immediately that we wanted to contribute to this incredible cause.
“We are therefore encouraging all supporters and visitors attending fixtures and events at Welling United to bring along any items they are able to donate. Every contribution will directly support individuals and families within our community who may be struggling. Your generosity can make a meaningful and immediate difference.”
The club encourages supporters to donate what they can. Every item, no matter how small, will help make a difference.
