Welling United hit the road for some midweek action as they head to Hertfordshire to take on Cheshunt on Tuesday evening.

The Wings have been in good form in recent weeks, securing four points from their last two outings against promotion-chasing Chelmsford City and Dartford and could, perhaps, count themselves unlucky not to have come away with all six following an excellent showing against the Darts at the weekend.

Currently sat in 14th position, Welling are just two points away from their total points tally last season and will be targeting victory against the Ambers to surpass that in quick time this term.

THE OPPOSITION
Having been promoted to the second tier of non-League football last season, Cheshunt are aiming for survival and currently find themselves in 19th position, one point above the drop zone having played more games than all-but one of their rivals below them [bottom club Hungerford Town].

Although they are without a win in their last five, they have lost only once in their last nine outings.

They come into the game off the back of three straight draws, most recently sharing a goalless stalemate at home to Hemel Hempstead Town on Saturday.

PRE-MATCH CHAT
Warren Feeney: “Tuesday will be a bigger game than Saturday just gone because it’s about mentality.

They’re fighting for their lives, they’re a good team with a good manager so it will be a tough game for us, but we’ll go there with confidence, dust the boys down and, hopefully, get the right result.”
