Welling United have the opportunity to get their first points of the season on the board as they face a second home game in three days with the visit of Chelmsford City to the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).
The Wings can count themselves unlucky not to have come away with anything from Saturday’s clash with Hemel Hempstead Town in DA16.
A controversial sending off for midfielder TJ Bramble was followed by an even-more controversial penalty decision which led to the visitors’ winner in a game in which the hosts impressed for large parts.
With Bramble’s suspension not set to kick in until the weekend, he will be eligible for selection under the lights on Tuesday evening, but the Wings are likely to be without Mitchell Dickenson, Crossley Lema, Lewis White and Enoch Muwonge who all continue to nurse early-season injuries.
THE OPPOSITION
Chelmsford enjoyed a positive season last term, finishing in fifth position and comfortably claiming a place in the play-offs. Ultimately, the Clarets would lose out to St Albans City at the quarter-final stage.
This season has seen them enjoy a solid start, earning a victory and a draw in their first two games – a 1-0 home win over Farnborough on opening day, followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday.

Robert Claussen will be the man in the middle on Tuesday evening.
Last season saw him take charge of 20 National League South fixtures, producing 68 yellow cards and three red cards.
He last refereed the Wings for the 1-0 New Year’s Day victory over Tonbridge Angels in DA16 in January.

Tickets for the clash against Chelmsford City are available to purchase online in advance and will also be available for cash and card at the turnstiles on the evening of the match priced £15 adults, £10 concessions and students and £5 U16s, while U11s go free with an accompanying adult.

Supporters unable to get to the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium on Tuesday evening for the Wings’ clash with Chelmsford City will be able watch all the action live on National League TV.
This season, for the first time, all National League South games not subject to UEFA Article 48 regulation will be streamed exclusively live on National League TV – this means all midweek and any other non-Saturday 3pm games will be permitted on the platform.
